Open Question: Would never have guessed!?
My husband and I were just debating whether Simple Minds copied U2, or vice versa, and we decided that the best way to determine the answer was to see who had the first Top 10 single in the UK.
Now that we looked, we have found that U2 have had more Top 10 singles than ANY OTHER BAND (not solo artist, but band). Can you believe it? Does this mean they’re officially the best band in history? Who would you have thought would have had the most Top 10 hits?
(PS the answer to the argument is that U2 had chart success 2 years before Simple Minds, so Simple Minds are the copycats!)

It’s just the UK charts. But the Beatles were British, so you’d expect them to have done well (and they did).
In the UK, Elvis still had less Top 10’s than U2.
