Open Question: Did MTV ruin rock???
June 15th, 2008I’ve personally started getting into 70’s 80’s rock, by listening to Aerosmith, AC/DC, guns n roses, rolling stones. i still like some current rock bands such as the red hot chili peppers, U2, coldplay, but thats about it. Anyways, whenever i listen to the classic bands, their songs just blow me away, the guitar riffs on back in black, aerosmith’s walk this way, guns n roses welcome to the jungle, they’re amazing. even u2’s one, every single song on rhcp’s stadium arcadium r good. but still those bands r sort of from back in the day too. i feel that the rock music out today is nothing but pure banging of the drums and guitar coupled with screaming. rock’s definitely fallen. I was watching school of rock the other day, and jack black had a dialogue in which he said that MTV ruined rock. Does anyone, think thats true and why?? also does anyone think we’ll see a rock group going big again??
